Color theory

Hand-painted gouache studies examining color interaction, transparency, and geometric composition. The same pigment reads differently on every ground; these panels make that visible.

Boston Masonry Motifs

A repeating pattern drawn from the weathered surfaces of Boston: torn concert posters, a defaced construction sign, and a pair of legs and shoes photographed on the street. I isolated three motifs, ripped lettering, the sign, and the pants and shoes, then layered them into a single tile in a dusty rose, mauve and black palette.

The tile repeats seamlessly, so the same artwork can run as yardage, wallpaper or a print on a shoe upper.
